Speaker:

Hi, this is Stephanie Maas.

Speaker:

For those of you that know me, you know I've been doing these for quite some time.

Speaker:

The fun part is the doing them.

Speaker:

The hard part sometimes is coming up with the content.

Speaker:

I reached out to some of my partners and colleagues at our firm, and I said, hey, if anybody has any ideas that they would like me to share, please let me know, and I'll be happy to do so.

Speaker:

One of my favorite partners reached out after having had a, we'll say an incident at a company function, said, hey, I think you should talk about how to handle hangovers in the workplace.

Speaker:

So, I gotta be honest, I don't have a ton of recent experience, but from back in the day when I did, here's just a couple of pointers for handling a hangover in the workplace.

Speaker:

First and foremost, hydrate, hydrate, hydrate.

Speaker:

I know it's easy to get caught up, beer after beer, wine after wine, shot after shot, but let's be smart.

Speaker:

Buffer in some water every now and again.

Speaker:

It really helps.

Speaker:

If you don't, however, and you find yourself awake, having to rush off to work with a hangover, just remember it's never too late.

Speaker:

I know it'll be tempting to go for the caffeine, but buffer in the water.

Speaker:

It'll speed things up.

Speaker:

Second thing, Let's be honest, if you're anywhere even close to my age, hangovers hurt.

Speaker:

Let's not be shy about this.

Speaker:

Advil, Tylenol, whatever it takes.

Speaker:

It is your friend.

Speaker:

Take it regularly until you can get to the other side.

Speaker:

Lastly, have fun with it.

Speaker:

We've all been there.

Speaker:

Yeah, it stinks.

Speaker:

And so you made a mistake.

Speaker:

You drank too much the night before and now you're trying to function.

Speaker:

Be a good spirit.

Speaker:

Have a good attitude.

Speaker:

And just be more mindful next time.
