Hi, this is Stephanie Maas, partner with Thinking Ahead Search Firm today.
Speaker:I wanna give a shout out to all my community and regional banks.
Speaker:This is based on a recent experience of a candidate that I placed in the last couple of months who came from a mega bank.
Speaker:We were talking at the end of week one and I said, Hey, how did it go?
Speaker:What was it like?
Speaker:And he said, I have to tell you, I was really surprised this week.
Speaker:So typically, I'm not a big fan of surprises.
Speaker:Um, because most of the time it's not flowers, chocolate, wine, et cetera.
Speaker:It's Oh, surprise, but not in this case.
Speaker:He said when I got to work on Monday, we had orientation all day.
Speaker:He said, usually, Stephanie, those are super boring.
Speaker:They're long and it's monotonous.
Speaker:You just know it's gonna be a painful day.
Speaker:That's fine.
Speaker:He said it wasn't.
Speaker:It was actually very valuable information.
Speaker:It was very helpful, and I really enjoyed the interaction amongst the other folks that I was there with.
Speaker:Second day, he goes to his actual real desk.
Speaker:He said everything was there, everything was set up.
Speaker:He had his computer, he had business cards.
Speaker:He had his phone.
Speaker:He had his phone with a voicemail that actually worked and he chuckled and said, Stephanie, I was at my last employer for almost two years.
Speaker:My voicemail never worked.
Speaker:I was a constant, outstanding ticket with their IT department.
Speaker:I had to chuckle, so it made me think about how important onboarding is one to give the shout out, and it's an easy thing, especially in you're, if you're in a slightly smaller organization to knock out of the
Speaker:park.
